Seeder Depth Adjustment

Hi neighbors
Just picked up a Lesco Renovator/slit seeder.

How do you know where to adjust the blade depth for different seeds?

You only want to dig in about 1/4" for all seeds.

Yep. It's not a matter of any difference in types of seed. Yu just want to penetrate the soil. Sometimes, you want to go a little deeper, because you have dips in the soil that you still have to penetrate. You'll see when you use it. Another thing is, make sure you lift the machine (just push down on the handle) BEFORE you engage the blades and slwoly put it down into the soil. Ths will save ALOT of bely wear.

No,you should get the hang of it in no time i do go thru a bearing in the tines every season so beware for a small break down.

If you don't mind, I CAN tell you one thing. You got one of the best slit seeders money can buy. As a matter of fact, pound for pound, that unit is probably the most bang for the buck. In doing row by row, you will be able flip that baby around fast and be right back on your next row. One thing, though. Don't even bother shutting the seed off when turning...just leave it going.

also, do 1/2 rate applications and do two passes, in different directions. This will help eliminate "crop row" effect where you see the lines of grasses before they fill in. It also helps hits the high and low spots better when you change the attack angle
