It could be just a tad bit closer to the pulley that way, also...giving it a tighter tolerance for the belt.
If it doesn't adjust, you could simply re-drill them to fit closer.
Another option would be to put a sleeve on there that would slip firmly over the pin. A piece if brass or something like that.
