I use hand files in the field and a Granberg file guide after 2 or 3 field sharpening. I don't care for the electric sharpeners because they take off too much material and it's really easy to burn the cutter which takes the temper out of the metal.

Hand file........when you grind it you are taking the temper out of the tooth and they dont seem to stay sharp as long.
