What kinda grassy weed is this??

It grows in big clumps, low to the ground, thick (wide) blades, very very dense.

What is it?

EJK...

I wish I could... sorry.

I thought it was crabgrass but according to a picture in another post... I'm not sure anymore.

The blades have to be 1/2"-5/8" wide and very dense.

Thanks Kirby.

I tried looking there but didn't see it. It's hard to tell from some of those pics.

By the way... Some of the pics you post like in the crab grass thread... What are they from? One pic has Virginia Tech weed ID guide... Is that a book?

Ok, try here: http://www.basfagproducts2.com/weedguide, or here: http://ag.fmc.com/ag/weedbug/, or here: http://www.ppws.vt.edu/weedindex.htm, or maybe this: http://www.rce.rutgers.edu/weeds/index-thumbnail.asp

Maybe you can dig it up and take it to Lesco or John Deere and get an answer. Anything here without a photo would be a big guess.

TSG...I really think it is crabgrass. I know what you're talking about as I have lots on some of my properties as well. If you find out different please let us know!

Is this it?

Dallisgrass resembles crabgrass a lot. But it is lower growing and a darker green and the blades on Dallisgrass can get very wide.
