Good choice on picking the larger amount of coverage. I carry 1M as well.

You should have it even if you're not bidding accounts which require you to carry it.

Also as a side note auto liability is pretty darn cheap. I carry 500/500/500 on my personal vehicles

and 500 CSL on my business vehicles.
