English Ivy
I have a customer that has english ivy on two trees. Is there anything I can spray that will kill the ivy but NOT the trees? He tried cutting it off at the bottom last year...didn't work.

Not if the ivy is up into the foliage. Ivy has a waxy coating on the surface which repels water and you need highly concentrated herbicides to kill it. Tree leaves will wilt with mild herb. mixes.

He must not have cut ALL the way around the tree........
Once the water source is cut off it dies,be SUPER careful NOT to slit the bark as you cut the ivy. I.E. DO NOT USE A WEEDEATER..... Fall is a great time to cut ivy like that because the long winter will bring down the dead stuff, do it in the spring and you'll see it all summer.....
