Holy Cow! It looks like you better get something down on that, and soon! It looks like chinch bug damage to me, or possibly grubs. Have you checked for these?

Actually the lawn is in bad shape there because the soil needs over 2 tons of lime per acre( thats what the tests they had done came backas saying)
And being as it's a cemetery it's not like you're just going to rip it all up and work it into the soil like they said it needs to (cornell did the tests)
The people who have loved ones buried there would flip out if they did that.

Also the picture was taken in the middle of the drought this summer so they're lucky it's green at all.
