what is snapshot

i have heard of a product called snapshot....what does it do?

it's a premergent herbicide used a lot in mulch beds.

Does it go down in the Spring like turf pre-emergents or is an app that is done a few times throughout the year?

Snapshot generally goes down in the spring. Needs to be watered in to be activated, and should last you 90 days or more, depending on soil type, irrigation, rainfall, etc. Excellent product with a very broad label.
