Which Blades?
I have finally put the finishing touches on the "mechanical rebuild" of an Excel Hustler 295. Took it out for a trial run and all is working just fine. On occasion, I'll be mowing some fairly high grass and weeds. Is there a better type of blade to use, rather than the type that came on the machine 25 plus years ago? I'm dealing with a rebuilt two cylinder, 25 HP, gas engine, with a 72 inch mower deck.
Thanks. Paul |

If you can get me the model # off your deck I can give you a idea of whats available, and make some suggestions from there.

Which Blades?
I finally got the mower deck model number. It's 922831. I'd like to get blades that are going to do the best job.
Thanks, Paul |

Here are all your blade options from Hustler, these are Hustler part #'s. They are all 24" blades, we have used these for over 30 years and still do today on our 72" QuadCycler front mount deck. The stock blade would be a medium lift blade (37 degrees), it is part # 754853 Optional high lift blade (42 degrees), part # 779504 We at one time offered a Gator blade, it is part # 779660 (You may have a hard time finding this one, we don't offer it anymore) And a weird one.... a double edged flat blade (no lift at all) we make these for our range wing decks due to ccw and cw rotation spindles, it is part # 024992.

Which Blades?
What's the difference between the medium lift and the high lift, and which one is better for the job I described in my first post?
Thanks again. Paul |

It depends on how much rough cutting your doing and how the engine is on power, the higher lift blades take more hp to run. I would run with the stocks personally. Pj
