Why did my kohler blow a puff of blue smoke?

Yea, Yea...the typical anwser is burning oil....But this has happend only twice in maybe 25 hrs of mowing (since i've owned it)with a hustler super-z 28hp kohler efi. The first time was when the mower had set for a week or so. Then it happend this last sat. just once, after i took my first break from mowing. I stopped 3-4 times during the day while mowing around 7+ acres in 100 degree heat. This kohler has 1155 hours on it & it does not loose never needs oil. It smoked for only 5-10 sec then cleared up. It also never smokes while mowing. One thing to add ...while i took my first break, i parked the mower on a incline nose down...maybe some oil seeped into the low side the cylinder head??? It didn't do it any more after that(but then i was parked on level ground then) I have a old dixion w/a L-head 12hp briggs that does this evey time i winch up the front to clean the deck,...but then this motor is Very tired & smokes alot at start up anyway....

I think you answered your own question- about level ground. Park it the same way again and see if it repeats.
A puff after sitting for an extended time isn't really abnormal either. Especially if your oil level happens to be slightly above the full mark.
As long as it's not using oil, I wouldn't be concerned.
