Painting topper on chevy blazer

I just had a paint job done on my 87' full size Cevy blazer. Acrylic enamel and it came out great. However, they used the same paint on the fiberglass cap as the metal body9I didn't want to pay extra for flat matte paint for top). It is shiny and doesn't look as good as it should on the topper.
Would it come out alright if I painted the topper myself using a good quality flat spray paint(acrylic)? Would wait at least a month for the new paint to completely cure and scruff it up some before application.

I would imagine it looks pretty good, the tops are supposed to shine, don't worry it'll fade quick enough.

Sound wisdom. You are so right, it'll fade quick enough. Thanks for reply.
