Three hole spreaders are a problem. But just cover two of the holes with duct tape--open the remaining hole up two more notches. Will seldom plug up anymore.

Will you be lifting it onto the truck? Weight is an issue--most spreaders weigh about 35 pounds.

A good type of pattern adjustment like the Anderson's helical cone is helpful.
