buying a trailer soon?

I just bought a brand new 6 1/2x16 dual wheel, with gate and without brakes with brand new tires for $1200.00. I looked around my area and this was a fair price. I had a 6x12 and out grew it. I now realize that I should have bought the 16' in the first place. Good luck.

Back in 1999, I bought a 6.5' X 10' trailer for $550.00, did'nt have ramp , but was a tilt. I've just completed building a ramp and extending it 2'. I bought a 7' X 20' trailer tandem one axle brake for $1595.00 out the door, 7700lb capacity, I think I got a pretty good deal on that one.

I think $700 is too much for a use 4x8. And your 94 explorer; my friend has one and with 110000 on it, it barrly moves itself.

everybodies area is different when it comes to price, a new 4x8 trailer around here is around $950, depending on the options (gate etc). however a 6x16 is only $1500. used for some reason price doesnt drop to much all depending on who is selling it, a 4x8 in fair shape can be had for $100

Think about the costs for a trailer. Most of the cost is in the axle and suspension and then the labor. Length of the trailer just means more steel and wood. Not much expense there. That is why prices do not go up much as length changes. Big difference in price is reflective of weight capacity and that relates to axle ratings and number of axles.

$700.00 is a lot for a small trailer that is used. The last trailer I bought was a 6x16 with duel axile for $699.00. I'd shop around you don't have to buy a trailer that will just do. Ask around you may be able to find someone who could build you one.
