re-seeding a sandy soil

I picked up a new account doing their mowing. It's a pre school and they have this area next to their play ground which is just sand that they would like to look nice with grass. Naturally there is a lot of sand and compacted soil from all the kids running over it. Any chance grass would grow there with the sand mixed in if it were roped off for a bit?

If you have to put turf back you will want to do a complete refurb, mix a lot of compost with the soil while you are rototilling, seed and rope it off for 3 weeks or so

If the kids are constantly running over it turf may not be the best solution, it will eventually become compacted again unless you do more of an engineered soil, maybe mulch it
