Ihope thats your problem. If not check for creacked or broken wire from distrubutor to ign. (5x5 box) a few F600's had this problem and it can drive you insain. a clue to this is if the truck won't start on a damp wet morning. but once you get it going it will start like new the rest of day hot or cold.

The Ford modules did and do give some problems. 90% of them are when the heat in the engine compartment gets high and the electronics open up. Usually when your driving down the highway. It's like someone turns the key off while driving. A 1 hour cool down would let it start up to get some help or home. When cold it usally didn't give problems. The way you test it is to remove the coil wire stick a spark plug on it with a very small gap. Turn the key to the run position. Be carefull because when you turn the key on and off it will spark, this is normal. Then with the handle of a screwdriver or rubber mallot tap the controle module all over. If there is just one spark then your module is bad. This is a real test that is used by shops and Ford.
While trying to start the engine have you checked for spark at that time. |
