Wiring Diagrahm for Huskee Riding Lawn Mower

Under the seat is a plastic tag that should contain the model number of the mower. Unfortunately, the tag has dried out and turned to powder. The only thing I can say for sure is that it was sold by Tractor Supply under the brand name Huskee - the engine is a B&S 20 HP - 460777 / 2276 E1 / 9803265A.

The engine has a spin on filter and screwed into the side where the oil filter mounts is an oil pressure cut off switch (P/N 491657) . I do not see a wire from the harness to that switch. I purchased this mower used. I believe the engine to be original to the mower.

I need a wiring diagram that shows me how the oil switch is connected.

OR - information as to why I would have an oil pressure switch with a wire lead but no wire on the harness.

Keep your oil clean and full, and do not worry about it.
They might have got a good price on the engines with this feature, and
slapped them on the mower anyway. Some of those engines came out without a filter as well.

Well, My resources have shown me that MTD only built two units in 1998 under the Huskee name sold to Tractor Supply that used this exact model and type number engine and no engine carry-overs in 1999.

Model #'s 14AJ839P131 and 14AJ849P131 in which both show the same exact wire harness diagram with no O.P. switch;




Only a guess but it's possible these engines with the O.P. switch were purchased by MTD for other units with the fancy indicator dash panel, They may have bought too many for the build number and slapped them on units like yours without the panel or they could have under purchased engines without the O.P. switch for your unit and slapped these on.

It's anyone's guess, As long as you take a few seconds to check the oil level before each use you should have no fear of running low/without oil.

On riding units, the O.P. switch wire can ONLY be hooked up to a warning light/buzzer.
Don't want to have the engine die and have riders ejected forward into the path of the mower, do we?

But being ejected is so much fun. There is nothing like the thrill of the moment as you realize that you are banta fodder for your riding lawn mower. Besides, women find a man sexy who can say they have been run over by their own lawnmower and lived to tell about it.
