Stolen Blitz Gas cans a first for me
In the 8 years of business I have been fortunate to only have a 30 gallon home made air tank stolen out of a truck bed. I must say time's are changing, out of my personal driveway, last nigh at some point, someone had the gumpsion, to steal two 5 gallon blitz cans one was 1/2 full of Amsoil 2-stroke mix, and the other was 3/4 full of 87 gasoline. I feel people are getting desperate now, and this is really weighing heavy on me. I have several thousands of dollars of tools in a tool chest(like a "JOB BOX"); which is heavy as hell, but not bolted to the bed, would take 4 guys or a lift to get it out, unless your a theif on crack wanting it
. Also a 35 gallon kobalt air compressior that is cable locked to the bed. I usually pay the guys to unload the truck, but I have gotten lazy, it's early in the season, but the theifs are waiting for my stuff now. ![]()

With the price of gas these days the theifs probably wanted the gas more than the gas cans.

I have had a 5 gallon gas can stolen twice. The fist time the can nearly full of gas was the only thing they took from my trailer during the night. They could have taken much more but took only a gas can. Several months later someone stole a sting trimmer, pole hedge trimmer, hand held hedge trimmer, and a half full gas can. I have made some changes, and I assure you it will not happen again while I am around. I was thinking seriously about getting an extra gas can and mixing some gas, water, and sugar together. Then at night I could run my cable through the cans with real gas and lock them up, while leaving the other unlocked. Then when if they steal it they will get what's coming to them. But I have not done that yet, because I would be the first one to use it.

Easy enough to fix
Most of the time when someone is stealing gas from you they are a neighbor, so here's what you need to do: Put 4 gallons of water and 1/2 gallon of your oldest gas, or 2 stroke mix into a can, and leave it in plain sight in your truck or driveway. When the SOB steals it, either his car or mower will end up stalled out nearby with the hood up, then you'll know who's stealing. Next can, add Benzine to, for some extra fun!

I had a 5 gallon gas can and a blower stolen a few years ago. I now have a cable lock going through the gas can handles.
