2002 Chevy 2500 HD 4 x4

Does anyone have any information about the reliability of the 2002 Chevy 2500 HD 4 x 4 6.0L gas, automatic trans. (Not Allison).

As you may know or may not, I will probably be purchasing this truck in the near future. I am interested in any complaints or positive comments about this truck.

Thank you in advance.

stahls2,
I don't have that configuration in my truck, but I know where you can get plenty of info.

Good luck with your new truck.

I HAVE A 99 CHEVY 2500 4X4. IT IS NOT THE HD, BUT IT DOES HAVE THE 6.0 VORTEC. THIS ENGINE IS AWSOME. YOU CAN HARDLY TELL YOUR PULLING SOMETHING. BUT GET READY TO BE AT THE PUMP, ALL THE TIME. I GET 11 TO 12 CITY, AND ABOUT 14 ON THE HIGHWAY.

I have the exact setup, and although i have not towed anything yet ,it has done well over the winter plowing, with an eight foot western on it

I would not worry about the trans not being an allison ,my salesman tried to push me on it, and you hear some poeple really raving about it. I took a truck for a drive with an allison and just did not like the feel....plus in my opinion it backed up REALLY slow

hd four speed works great

i have an 02 2500HD, but with the duramax and allison. for what its worth though, the truck has been awesome. im getting about 21 mpg on avg. ive talked to many people with the gas ones though, and they are all satisfied saying it has tons of power and getting about 15 or 16 mpg. dont under power the truck, or your mpg will decrease dramatically cause your overlaboring the truck. good luck.
