Magna-Matic VS RBG 20014-C

I have a RBG 20014-C, and would be interested in comparing it with a Magna Matic. Has anyone ever compared the two? Is there anyone in the North East MS aria that has a Magna Matic, that would be interested in a side be side comparison?
Thanks

I used to have an RGB-cant remember what model. But I have a mag 9000 now. Just called them this am to order a switch and two more wheels. They have an update for the rocker switch and it is half the price of the original and wont be affected by grit. Ill probably have my parts tomorro. Great machines and customer service too.

In my former place of employment, I had both - an RBG-1000 (3/4 HP model) and the Magna-matic 8000.

I left the RBG set up for flat blades with a ruby wheel, and it works great for that.

The Magna Works great on those curved mulch blades all homeowners have but don't seem to know how to use.

If you get only one sharpener, get the Magna 8000. It will do both flat and mulch blades.
If you get the magna, make sure they already updated the switch, or have them throw one in. Also, get yourself a more wheels (they wear out fast - designed that way). They are available in cases of 10. Get the 1" wide ones for flat blades, and the 1/2" wide ones for mulch blades.

Also, if you ever need to sharpen your chipper knives, get the Mag-3000 (http://www.magna-matic.com/accessori...000/index.html) or Mag-3001 (http://www.magna-matic.com/accessori...001/index.html) chipper vise to hold them. No more burnt fingers!

Hello All,

Just to make a note. We have discontinued the use of plastic rocker on/off switches in all of our sharpeners. This change was implemented approx 3 years or more ago.

We only use industrial metal toggle switches currently, they almost never wear out.

There are UPDATE kits available for both the MAG-9000 and MAG-8000 to change your plastic rocker switch to the industrial metal toggle switch.

Magna-Matic makes a MAJOR point of making constant improvements to our products AND do our best to make those improvements RETRO-FITTABLE to old machines. So that everyone can update their sharpener to the latest design, without being FORCED into buying another sharpener to get the newest technology.

Thank you,
