pick a truck

im going to purchase another used truck.
one is 1/2 ton 4x4 and the guy tells me it get 15 mpg.
and the other is a 3/4 ton 4x4 that gets 10 mpg has c6 trans is why
both are fords and are 302 . im just wondering what you guys would pick better gas milage or a heaver duty truck ?

First off let me say you will never regret having a 3/4 ton truck. I had a half, never again. Second you DO NOT want a 302 in a 3/4 ton. My half had one and wasn't enough power for it. I can't stress this fact enough, you would be very unhappy with this set up, once you got it. Just my opinion.

The 3/4 ton is the way to go. If it has a 302 it is probably a light 3/4. How much weight will you tow with this truck? Will you haul heavier loads in the future? I would opt for a 351 or 460 if you want a gasser. That 302 will perform ok with a light load but add on a 16 foot trailer with 2 walk behinds and other stuff and you will have an underpowered gasguzzler.
