mower deck welding

I've heard its against federal reg/law to weld a mower deck. Has anyone else heard of this?????

G*d I hope not! Welding/straightning cranks I understand is bad, but not decks.

law or not. weld it up because it's much more dangerous NOT welded.

I think that falls under the ATF's jurisdiction. You might want to check with them before attempting any repairs.
But don't say anything about those funny looking plants your growing in the spare bedroom.

With the number of deck welds I've got on some of my machines - I'd better just go turn myself in. I'm sure they'll give me the chair.
