Jeez you guys, my post was a joke! No weapons at work, ever, period. I don't care if your leaving for an elk hunt in wyoming, never had a weapon in my truck, never will.

First of all, I carry several rifles in my truck depending upon time of year.
There is always a .22 semi-auto for critter control. Armadillos, squirrels, feral cats and dogs, raccoons. This time of year I usually have a scoped 30-06 as I hunt either on the way into the maintenance building or on the way home. My crews have never asked for permission to carry a weapon with them but if they did I would address requests individually.

ten point buck today, but no gun
I got eight applicators -- two are avid hunters (bow, shotgun, hand gun). So I have no prob with these two guys carrying their "weapons of choice" in their work trucks (seasonal). They are licensed and very experienced. (my brother always carries a shotgun while combining corn & soybeans).
I used to hunt pheasants when I was young, but I've gotten on the "save the animals" bandwagon. Yet I respect hunters. M____ & I saw a ten point buck today, but it was in the "forbidden zone" (inside city limits) .....plus we had no gun. ![]() Glad to hear this topic had never been brought up before..........that's probably why lawnsite moderators put up with me.

Hunting while working? Next thing you know, your guys will be taking off early, before work is finished, to go hunting. (in jest and in referrence to another thread)

I was referring to this thread of American's. Is it safe to assume one of the employees mentioned is the one bringing the bow to work?
However, you do have the solution. Schedule the work around the hunting/gathering. |

I heard of a guy that lost his combine because he shot at a deer from the platform of his combine. DNR impounded it.
