Where can i find what the actual engine numbers mean ? Put a new engine in my son's truck and would like to find out what year, etc about the engine. any help ? ( not the casting numbers,,already know about them )

There is a company in Lenexa, Kansas called L.M.C truck. It is a chevy truck parts catalog. In this catalog they list all kinds of info about the various engines via cast numbers, vin numbers, etc. You may get a copy by calling 1-800-222-5664.
