how do you kill clover in the lawn

how do you kill the three leaf clovers that grow in small two foot square bunches in the lawnl, especially near stone walls. I tried several applications of the kill the weeds not the grass type sprays but those clovers will not go away.

All about clover

Clover is a sign of low nitrogen soil. White and pink clover is often desired in a lawn. It contributes nitrogen to the soil and doesn't compete much with the grass. Yellow clover however is another story. Yellow clover is actually "Black Medic". "Black Medic" can tend to be a little more aggressive, and can even take over a lawn. Grass is a nitrogen pig. Clover can get it's nitrogen from the air. Remember the air we breathe is somewhere aroung 80% nitrogen! Remember the clover is a sign of low nitrogen and fertilize with something like Scott's which has a 29 or 30 nitrogen rating. Good Luck!

IF its actually clover that you are describing then confront herbicide does excellent on the controlling it. If you are discussing black medic, or hop clover then millenium ultra will get good results.
