Hydro-Gear pumps
Can anyone tell me how you know if your hydro-pumps are wereing out? I have a Snapper walk behind that I have been using with a Velke. After I run the mower for about 30 minutes I loose about %25 of my speed and it really struggles/slows up gowing up grade.
Thanks, Drew |

try changing the hydro filter and replacing the fluid with 10-50 synthetic engine oil.

the only way to tell where and what the problem is would be to put a pressure/flow gauge on it. taking a good guess i would say that the pump is getting tired. if you have a piston pump you can freshen it up by lapping the pump plate and the cylinder slippers back to a smooth finish. grasmo.
