Solu-Cal for other than pH adjustment

Our Fertilizer distributor is suggesting using Solu-cal to improve lawns? Most comments I have seen about Solu-cal relate to its use to raise pH.
Has anyone used it for its other supposed benefits of improving turf health?

Calcium is another element essential to turf health. I do not use Solu-Cal, but solution grade calcium nitrate. In some soils, aeration and structure are helped by addition of calcium. In my case. being surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, sodium accumulation is an issue. Application of soluble calcium, then deep irrigation is a way to deal with this.
