Merchant account or shopping cart?

I have a website with should I get a merchant account or just a shopping cart program?

Shopping Cart - You need Shopping Cart, if you want to sell any products online (from your website).

Merchant Account - Merchant account is used for credit card processing. You can use merchant accounts provided by Intuit, etc. based on the fee structure independent of Godaddy.

Advantage of godaddy merchant account: Godaddy merchant account makes it easier to integrate with their shopping cart.

have you guys had a large amount of credit card payers ?

I have seen no reason for an account.

Just wondering
