Tired of writing on napkins!

So what do you use to keep track of leads and customers? My current notepad, voicemail & email system is becoming a job all in itself. I prefer having a free, open source solution.

I have one of those too - never used it for the business though.

I am really looking for software. Ideally, something I can put up on a secure website so I can check from any system.

Just an idea (I might implement actually)... use a G-Mail account. New lead = new contact in the g-mail account.

You can file the contact in different groups so...

Start it out in the lead group.

Then move it to the completed bid group

Then move it to the customer group or old bids group depending on how the bidding/follow-up go.

Simple... and available on any computer that has the net.

The groups show how many contacts you have in each, so your goal would be to keep the lead and completed bid groups to a minimum while maximizing your customer group. Be creative.

I use the voice memo feature of my cell phone often for making short notes. I do carry a 3X5 spiral notepad in my pocket, along with a wallet of business cards. The notepad requires writing, and sometimes that works fine, sometimes not. When not, the voice memo on the cell can capture the information to be taken off later. For example, it can be flipped open, voice memo recorded, closed and put away while running on the ZTR - can't get the notepad out when driving the ZTR.
