Help With Staining Bid

I know this is not really related to the green industry but I am in need of help. I have aclient that wants me to stain their ceder sided house. I have not taken measurements yet however I can get them.
What have you seen people charge for staining? do they typically go by the square footage or hourly? The ceder is only 3 years old and needs to be stained every other year.
I would appreciate any help.
Marcus

I can't give you a per square foot unit cost but, I used to be a painting contractor and can tell you that generally the materials were around 20% of the total job cost. This can vary greatly due to things like height and degree of difficulty. If you are totally lost go to a paint supply store like Gliddens or
Sherwin-Williams where the pros shop and get your material cost and go from there. Sometimes the store employees are knowledgeable enough to guide you on pricing. Sometimes. Good Luck.
