Display MC and Visa logo on trucks/Trailers?

Is it a positive or a negative to put Visa/Mastercard stickers on your trucks trailers if you accept it?

I see it as only being a positive. We live in the age of plastic, many people even get mad if a person at the store in front of them use a check to pay as it takes forever. Many people would be pleased to know that a company accepts credit cards, nothing more convenient for the customer.

We accept them but don't overtly advertise it. Almost all the residentials leave a check. Even though with our volume the processing fee is only 1.8%, it's still a "fee" that I don't want to pay unless I have too.

However many of our commercial accounts pay with credit cards (actually they're "purchase cards" but whatever) Will bill many of them electronically and they can submit payment OR schedule payment when they recieve the bill. Most schedule it for the 10th day following reciept (our terms for most accounts). Most of them still mail checks though.

We used to accept payments through paypal but their fees have gotten out of hand if the customer uses a credit card instead of their bank account. So we do not accept credit cards through paypal. They can call it in OR we keep their information in our accounting software (with their permission and it's encrypted) and charge their card the day of service (works with debit cards too.... which we prefer because there's NO fee)

I've got them on my trucks. For mowing accts. and jobs under $100 I'd rather just run a card because checks are a PITA. On a $5k landscape job I'll tell the customer that I prefer a check. If you're only going to sell the job by taking a credit card, then do it!
