I used to catch Stripers on the Jersey Shore, from the surf, and just outside the breakers on live eels.

I would never fry one though, Wrap them in alum foil, dice up some onions and tomatos, smother in butter, and beer and let it steam on the grill.

you trolling with umbrella rigs? We jig at 3.5 knots with parachute jigs. Parachute jigs produce by far larger stripers then trolling unbrellas around here. Umbrellas produce too many blues.
