e-mailing to property management co. for bid request

Does anyone email property management companies or realtors for bid requests instead of calling or actually going to them? Do you guys think it would be too unprofessional to introduce yourself and your company via e-mail? I can sit here on the computer and send e-mails to several places faster than I can call and get to talk to the right person(s). Thanks in advance!

I think this is a very good idea. I am currently looking into it myself. I am also looking for someone to design a monthly newsletter I can send to my customers via e-mail.
