Is it too late?

I recently had to dig up the whole front yard of a rental property of mine and im wondering what i should do as far as getting grass back on this mess. It is a very small area but i need to get it fixed asap. thanks in advance

You are Zone 5 right? You can probably sod now no problem. I would really hesitate on seeding at this point - esp. with this ultra cold weather we have been having.
I will let other guys give their opinions on this.

I hate to sound ignorant but i have no idea what zone im in-sorry. What type of prep work do i need to do for sod?

In your area seed could be tough, sod will work it just get it down fast and water the hell out of it and pray for above average temps. Make sure you put down some starter fertilizer before the sod, makes a huge difference.
