When checking prices compare apples to apples before looking at other fruit. As a rule Kaws cost more than comparable Kohler units and Briggs engines are less expensive than both. Look at the torque numbers more so than the "horsepower" ratings for "real world usage". What kind of tranny does it have ? Who made the pumps? wheel motors? Are the spindles aluminum or cast iron? How big are the shafts? What kind of deck? How thick? This has a real affect on the price of a unit.
