Get a manual and follow the instructions. If it didn't come with one, you should be able to find one online if the machine is still being manufactured.
It can be done with a little guidance...patience....and the right parts.

I take that your not mech inclined look at it if it gots a chain it got to have some thing to adjust it some thing has slide or move. loosen it and put the chain back on than retighen it or some thing like that you have dig in to it to find out i know this general but so is your post
