Need Help

I Just became the interum Head Groundskeeper for a school district. The only expierience I have is the actual landscaping aspect and field marking. Is there anyone out there that could help me with a fertilizing and maintainace schedule for 2 football fields and numerous "practice fields"? Keep in mind these fields are really beat up and my budget is limited.
Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Many of us would be glad to help. The good news is there is some time to figure it out before spring and still a little time to act if we determine that something should be done before winter.

Can you get any photos of season end conditon? I would be interested in knowing what the underlying soil type is and which, if any, fileds have irrigation. How often are they mowed and with what type of mower. Do you know what plan was followed throughout this year in terms of fertilizer, weed killer, insecticide, and seeding, if any? Lastly, does the school own an aerator.

And a question I am always curious about: how close together do you personally feel the expectations of the school and coaches is with what they are prepared to put into caring for the fields?

Welcome aboard here.
