I have an older probably mid 1980's GMC 3500 dually that i just put a new engine and tranny in. I love the truck but i was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to convert it to 4ed from 2wd. I do know if this is thisable or not but thought i would ask and see. Anyway thanks for the help.

Anything can be done it all depends on how fat you wallet is because converting a 2wd to 4x4 is very expensive and usually not worth it. Don't get me wrong but the truck would have tobe in exceptional shape to spend 5 grand to convert your truck and alot of labour. Your better off finding a 4x4 that has a rotted off body and put yours on it there gotta be alot of Chevys around with the body just hanging onto the frame by strands of rust.

Good Luck
