new annual flowers for 2010 (southeasterners)

I enjoy planting the newest and the best flowers to maximize the wow factor. Who has a secret new plant (or old). I am coastal zone 8, so some choices are out for me because of deer and petunia for example, they will melt out in july, some new heat tollerant petunias are out that I have not used. My orders need to be made soon, I guess its crunchtime. Standbys for me....coleus, duranta, begonia, calo and alocasia, portulaca, to name a few. I am also looking at some unusual tropicals. I am now looking at trial gardens around the country. Please PM to swap notes that you dont want to share with the public.
