compressor is tricky, you'll prolly have to add a battery and have the wiring to the truck recharge it, like a dump trailers setup.

my uncle ran 0 gauge wiring to an 1100 watt inverter in his utility body, and sometimes the compressor wont even start if it has head pressure.

the lights usually work through the aux power thats connected via the trailer wiring harness to the truck.

Use a Rv connector (google 7 pole RV Tow Vehicle Socket if you don't know what it is) to pull power from your truck. This will recharge a battery (if you have one) or run 12 volt stuff. I hope your just talking about running a small compressor like that. I have this to run an electric winch and I am going to install electric jacks that this will power too. My Chevrolet plug was already set up for this, but I am not sure what tow plug Fords have.
