Has anyone ever "sponsored" a field to get business?
Basically I am always thinking of marketing ideas and one that just came to mind is "sponsoring" a sports field that you would keep in tip top shape and take care of.
Put a sign up and keep it looking better than any others they play on and the calls should come rollingi in from all the "soccer moms" asking to make their lawn look like that. It could end up being pretty costly, but I am thinking the business it could generate migth make it worth it. I don't have any clue how maintenance on sports fields work or anything like that or if this is even possible. Any thoughts? |

We take care of sports fields and sponsor teams in the league. They have the logo and phone number right on the uniform. We have had banners up in on baseball fences, put ads in their year end banquet journals, not a single call on any of it.
We sponsor because it makes us feel good and helps support the kids. If we take care of the fields then we get to give back and thank them for the business. Any leads would be a bonus. I can think of many better ways to advertise than to do fields for free in the hopes of a phone call. Nobody is there looking at the grass they are all watching their little Johnny and Susie play ball. Just my .02

We sponsor a kids softball and soccer league, We get a sign on the fence at the baseball diamond and our name on the uniforms, This has led to some residential work but not much.
All the sports fields here are owned by the townships and go to lowest bid. That's the main reason some of them look like crap. We take care of the field for one private association for free that offers programs for special needs kids, We're in the area and it doesn't take much time. We lost one towship soccer field to Granmpa on his 42" Murray with dull blades last year who liked to cut it to about 1/2" . Can you guess how that one looked by the end of the year ?. He's not being allowed to bid this year.
