Snapper 26
Ok I know this mower is no longer made, but I found a snapper 26 7hp walk behind for 400, I think it seems like a good deal and I really think I might get this one. I would like to know how good this mower really is. Is a 26 to small or will I be fine with it.

I would pass. I have one and i thought the extra 4 inches for my trim mower would be great, but its not near as mobile. It is extremely heavy. Forget using it when it is wet becauste the single blade won't discharge, and forget using it on hills. just my 2 cents

The 26'' snapper walk behinds are notorious for having a weak self propelled drive system. The 21'' snappers use the same one but are a lot less heavy. I would prefer a 21'' or jump to a 32''or 36'' walk behind.

i heard bad things about those mowers too. i heard the cut sucks plus the one you are looking at has the briggs engine which aint gonna last. they used to make that mower with a robin subaru which was a pretty good engine. so yeah i would pass also.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOWER!!!! WE are a Snapper dealer and used to sell these machines. Saying that the transmission is undersized for this unit is the understatement of the century. We replaced transmissions on these units a lot and customers complained when they were out of warranty about replacing a $200.00 tranny. Do not buy. It may sound nice to have that extra few inches of cut, but it is not worth it in the long run. Exmark used to make a 26in. mower too but had the same probs. They also tried using undersized trannys to no avail.

About 8 years ago I was at my snapper dealer looking at a mower brochure. I was interested in the 26 for a trim mower. The guy at the parts counter told me it was the biggest POS snapper has ever made. He told me that his store would not sell them anymore due to too many warranty problems, so I went with a 21 instead and never had problems with the 21.

Allright I have seen a lot of negative responces, and will NOT get it. I guess I should just stick with a new 32

IT IS NOW 350. I know it seems bad but my helper is not aloud to use a larger wb until he can drive his parents say. I will only be using it on a few lawns.I am thinking of offering 250. Or even for that price is it to much of a pita
