I like USA built so I prefer the Kohler. But that's just me. And I know not all Kohler engines are built in the USA but the one we'd be looking at in this situation is.

We've used both, the Kohler's are good but we prefer the Kawasaki's. We have had excellent longevity out of both motors. We think the Kawasaki's run smoother, less vibration and are easier on fuel and run quieter.

And then there's the governor shaft seal and the coils that go bad...

I've had all 3 on a 300hr Kaw and all 3 issues have been found in the forums here with "yeah, they do that" type comments.
