Do operators prefer tube controls or hip controls, or does it even matter?

hip controls.....tube has a tendency to break if you use your blower as hard as i do... it gets thrown in the truck alot and can break

Tube Controls all the way. I guess you're a Stihl Rep? (Your location and sr in your name prob means Stihl Rep)
I hate hip controls - it feels unnatural to me like a curved shaft trimmer or a 4 wheel steer tractor. I guess some people do like the hip thingy, but I think it just gets in the way and uses up your free hand.

When I had my echo last year it was a hip controll I liked it a lot but got a killer deal on a new kaw 300 last year with tube throtle and at first it felt really unusual but after some time I began to like it and when I got my redmax I went for a tubethrotle and will be using tube throtles from now on

twobrosland, I do work for STIHL in the marketing department here in Virginia Beach. I posted on behalf of our blower product manager. We like to determine how our customers feel about various products and features. gives us a chance to improve. We had heard that in some parts of the country, especially the Northeast, that hip controls were preferred.

So far 99% of the responses have been in favor of tube control.

I love the tube control on my BR500, but seriously, that gas cap is awful.
