Yesterday I showed up at one of my residential accounts and her neighbor across the street was sitting on his car yapping on his cell phone while his two pitbulls roamed the front yard WITHOUT a leash. With other lawns to mow, I said scr*w this and bolted. I like dogs, but don't trust pitbulls one bit. I came back after finishing the others, but now he had about 5-6 other people out front, drinking and listening to "gangsta" music. Of course the pitbulls were still playing in the yard and, again, I just took off. Not worth it.

I called the homeowner and explained the situation. She said she understood and that the police have been out there a few times this year about various other issues. I said I'd try it again today, as I have other accounts nearby. Hopefully the dogs won't be around.

You did the right thing. I'd certainly hate to have to put a .357 round or two in the guy's dogs while he & his buddies were watching.

Neighbors seem to be raising them... Pits. Not legal... cops up there once a week yet it continues. I mow the empty lot next door and wish they would bite me!

THAT would be the end of it!!!!

Mowed for the first time this season... grit my teeth and just so happened the owners were home, outside, and stood on the property line with a can a beer and a cigarette.... and calmed the little darlings as they paced back and forth watching as I mowed.

Dogs don't usually bother me a whole lot, have had one tried to nibble and
the other chomped on me a little bit in the past 8 or so years but no biggie...

No, it really wasn't, didn't even break skin, it was just a test bite, guess it didn't like the flavor?

I would have let them bite me and sue the **** out of them!!! bottom line!!! had a helper get bit by a dog few years back, he got $5000 in less then 2 weeks!! also waiting for a customer neighbor to hit me, cant tell you how many time I come close to being hit by a angry neighbor, if and when it happens I am suing and taking all i can!!!!

Generally I don't have a problem with pitbulls...I know a guy that has one and it's the greatest dog I've ever been around. But given your situation and circumstances, I probably would have mad the same call. Better safe than sorry if it looks like you can't trust the dog or the owner.

These are the kind of people who should not be allowed to own dogs or be allowed to reproduce! You can't fix stupid! These dogs make me very uncomfortable. Its not the dogs fault so much as the idiots that own and train (or lack of) them.
