Is your middle finger on the trigger?
Do you ever use your middle finger on string trimmers? The reason why I ask is because some string trimmers are clearly meant to be used with the index finger and the index finger only; the Redmax with its hook shaped trigger comes to mind ... can't see how you can use your middle finger on a Stihl either.

I use both my middle and index finger on my Stihl FS90R. Having two fingers on the throttle provides better control, for me.

I honestly couldn't tell you if I use my middle finger or not. Using the trimmer has become "second nature" to me, so I don't even think about what finger(s) I use while using the trimmer.
