Need some help...Walker MTGHS outdrive problem.
Hello - I'm brand new here. I just bought a used Walker MTGHS mower that is in pretty sad shape. My mower mechanic has already put $600 into it and now says it needs BOTH outdrives at a cost of $1500 in parts plus $300 in labor. OMG! He said they are both dry - no 90 weight grease - and have metal filings in them. I can't afford another $1800. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. I'm just a newbie and think I bought a lemon.

The final drives can be rebuilt. Here is the IPLs for both types. Check and see just how bad they are. You may be able to rebuild them. Good luck
