Need Help Fert.!
Calibrated drop to 4 lbs per 1000's gate lever and setting should have been good, cable moved and over applied. Using .37 Barricade with 20% total N, 1.57 ammoniacal N and 18.43% Urea N. 20-4-1 with 15% sulfur and 12% Iron. Temps 85 degree's on KB. Should I hold on water, they have UG? Thank's

Exactly how much overapplication? I suspect no problems. Even at double rate--if applied evenly--should not burn the grass.

Fert. over application
RigglePLC thank's for the reply! Even application no over laps, I adjusted mid yard knowing it was heavy. I would say double for sure, should have stopped and calibrate at the heavy rate and know for shure? Have fert in 5 gallon buckets, still looking at lbs used and sq, ft. to make a call on that. Cheaper drop, has done ok till now. Any ideas if it come's out heaver than double?Thank you for your reply.

No additional ideas if it came out too heavy. But a fert burn happens quick--about 24 hours or less. If it looks ok today--maybe you are OK.

Water, water, water. It's the only thing you can do now. Oh ya, put the drop spreader out on the curb for the trashmnan.

Mowerman,
the Barricade will probably cause a little root pruning. Read the label carefully. For Kentucky bluegrass the yearly limit is about 6 lbs per year of your fert. For tall fescue almost 9 pounds. (Active ingredient of 1.5 pounds per acre). I hope its tall fescue, and I hope they allowed a margin for safety. If its any consolation, you should have 12 months of crabgrass control, but don't reseed for 12 months. |
