Toro 48" Zero turn, mower shuts off after 30 minutes of use

Anyone have any ideas.......

Mower: Toro Zero turn with 19hp Kawasaki motor.

I have 560 hours on my 2006 mower. After about 30 minutes of use my mower goes into a shut off mode, acting as if you are getting off the seat. Once it hesisates i stop, put the emergency brake on, and open the handle bars out as if i am parking the mower, it then regains a little life, for a short matter of time. If i let it sit for 20-30 minutes i can mow another 10 mintues but then it does the same thing again, sputtering after 10 minutes of use.

What i have done so far:

I replaced 2 ignition coil packs, 2 new plugs, run 2 bottles of fuel treatment. and now i am stumped. The hardest part is the fact that the mower works for 30-45 minutes until it gets hot and then the problem above occurs. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I don't have a clue but when you say as if I am parking the mower.
I assume you turn off the blades?
Which would remove load from the mower. And make the engine use less gas.
Maybe you have a fuel delivery problem.
Dirty fuel filter, bad fuel pump,bad fuel line or trash in the bottom of the gas tank?

Are the gas cap vents working? You can probably mow for a while without them but then when it cant suck any more fuel it sputters out. Let it sit for a few minutes and it can suck a little air back in the tank. Just a theory..

thanks everyone for your advice, i will keep going on the process of elimination and hopefully will nip this problem in the bud. I am still open to anyone else's suggestions.....

It sounds like the fuel system could be vapor locking when it gets hot. Ditto on the fuel filter and gas cap vents as being suspect.

i have a exmark ,does the same **** "aggreviating".under the seat i have a spring with a long bolt in it. i took the wire connector off and put in a jumper across the connector stopped the problem.maybe yours is diff,but its worth a try.its deff in your safty switches.

OK.... Im back now.. I picked the mower up from the TORO dealer, they double checked everything, mowed for (what they said) 2 1/2 hours and could find know problem.. I paid the $150 bill and said i will see what happens, maybe it was just BAD gas.

So i mowed last night and on my 4th yard (acre each 4). It did it again, this time i let it sit for 2 mintures and then started it back up. It ran, then sputtered a bit, like it was going to shut off, and then kept going for the next 15 more minutes i needed to finish my yard. I then parked it since it was late and getting dark.

I still dont have faith that it is perfect, but could it be just bad gas and will sort it self out. I have had this checked over by many different quality folks. My seat swith is supposely OK. I have printed out the post or forum on this matter and have given the mechanic a copy the website forum..thanks for your posts and response. im ready to be done with this problem

I discussed with a mechanic friend at local golf course and he said you may have small float inside carburator that is sticking shut. He has stopped using all toro's due to this float valve problem. Says when you take apart they don't put in the right way they will shut down and stop fuel flow.

Unless they did it at the shop, which for $150 they could have
done as much but from the sound of things they just looked it over?
Anyhow, try replacing the fuel filter(s).

If it makes you feel any better I go through it, too, maybe we're in the wrong business.
But yeah, replace the fuel filter(s).
