Toro must have had their solenoids made at the same Mexican factory as did W*M.

Those valves are repairable. You can buy both solenoids and diaphragms for them, they aren't as cheap as a new valve but rebuilding is a lot easier than replacing. I don't particularly care for the valve either but there are a lot of them that have been in service for 10+ years and are just now needing work so it's hard to justify replacing them when they can be rebuilt.
