Why not just keep a controller in stock?
Tell the customer it's done for and needs to be replaced, this is your price.

Repairing a main component of the sprinkler system seems more important to me then make sure a sprinkler head works??

However,
having a station master and a remote control are 2 vital things an irrigation tech should have.

BUT, can a Universal Remote act as stand alone? ie. existing controller is toast and doesnt work and professional wants to fire up the zones and begin further selling/diagnosis right away rather than convince the homeowner/manager that a new clock is needed and that AFTER they agree to buy and have installed the new expensive clock THEN the professional can further checkout the zones/heads/patterns.

(vs maybe a less convienient 521 locating and then manual bleeding)

________

irrig8r Im going to check that out, thanks
Just take a working transfomer and wire 1 lead to common, the other to zone wire. But as others have said " sell em a damn clock"
